DONAHOE LETS US KNOW HE'S LEAVING THE TORTURE BUSINESS >>

Since the start of the campaign, Utah Primate Freedom occassionally gets anonymous communications with people claiming to be affiliated with the laboratory. Some of these communications we have reason to believe are false and are sent to us in hopes of entrapping us, (Utah Primate Freedom is an entirely legal organization - and we're also not morons to fall into your stupid plots), but some of them appear to be legitimate.

One of these communications stated Donahoe doesn't use primates in experimentation anymore. We were cautiously optimistic, and sent an email to Donahoe himself to confirm these details. Donahoe sent us the following response:

"Your rumors are correct. I am not doing primate research at the University of Utah."

To which we replied:

"Thank you Dr. Donahoe.

And can we confirm that you will not be resuming work with primates at the University of Utah in the future?"

Donahoe also confirmed this with a "yes" reply.

It appears Donahoe may have not been vivisecting for some time (although the NIH CRISP database still shows that he has an active grant).

We would like all vivisectors out there to know: if you are being protested or have your details on our website and you no longer vivisect, please notify the campaign so we can remove your details from our site and stop wasting our time with you and move on to the next vivisector.

Angelucci, Leventhal, and Ichida's life just got a little more uncomfortable as we undoubtedly increase the pressure on the last 3 remaining primate vivisectors at the U. Things are sure to get interesting in 2007...
